Bone- Back in the Saddle Agin!!!
Jeff (Bone)Larson seems to be on a roll walking away with the Latemodel  FeatureSaturday night at Freepoprt Raceway.Larson has won the last two weeks in Freeport and last Sunday at Pecatonica,and qualifying Thursday for the World Dirt Racing .League.Larson started deep in the field and worked his way to the front taking advantage of the yellow flag putting him closer to the leader of the race Mike Miller,Larson put alot of preasue on Miller and worked his way around him ,never theatened agin the rest of the race,Miller finishing second and Mike Fryer third.
The modified feature was another thriller with Mark Verbeck leading by a pretty good margin until the yellow flag dropped making things exciting Scott Holbert of Morrison and friend from Morrison Mike Garland mixed it up for the last 5 laps trading spots for second and third both comming close to Verbeck but not close enough.Verbeck took the win followed by Garland the Holbert.Joe Foshee finished first in the Sportsman Class followed by points leader Jamie Pfieffer and Mike Kline.Joe Racer(Joe Huenefeld)won his first feature of the year in the Hobbystock Class,Greg Mckinstrey second and Chuck Griffin third.

It was a typical and ideal night for Freeport Raceway Park except for ONE thing? One of Freeports regular racers was not here. Freeports modified driver of the car 93.7 was in the Hospital in Madison, Wis awaiting surgery Mon morning.
Kenny Kontenbader was helping a friend with some Roofing work last Sunday and fell after a ladder gave out on him. Ken was taken to the Hospital by a friend and then transferred to the University of Wis with severe damage to vertebrae. Kenny will be off work(and racing) for  several months to come with no income to help with his family. Any and all donations would greatly appriciated by the Konstenbader Family in this time of need. If you can help in anyway possible please contact the Track owners Randy, Ginny or Lucy Gill @815 233-0202 or Kennys wife Lynn at home .

Hes Baaaaaaack!!!
It seems every time Darren Miller comes to Freeport Raceway Park it is a replay of the previous time he was here, by that meaning
a victory in the latemodel  feature. It seems he lays back the first half of the race and BAM he is on his way to the front!
Miller started deep in the field of 18 latemodels and  took the checkers by a pretty good margin followed by Kevin Skipper and a
hard charging Jeff Larson.
In the modified division Tim Sorn of Freeport celebrated his First ever A-main win over Josh Vinnedge and Mike Garland.
Not a large car count in the Sportsman class but plenty of exciting action saw Mike Kline finishing in the number #1 spot, Joe
Foshee second and Jamie Pfeiffer third.
The Hobbystock class was action packed as Tim Gross worked his way from very deep in the field and taking his Eighth feature win of the season and putting him on Top of the Dash For Cash Running. Chuck Griffin and Ed Williams Jr followed.

It was warm outside but the action was Hot at Freeport Raceway Park Saturday Night.
In the Latemodel ,ModifiedSportsman and Hopbbystock class the point leaders took victory lane
for the MidseasonChampionship race 7-5-03 and seemed to do it buy a pretty good margin!
All the point leaders in there class started front row.
The track was pretty slick but smooth and the drivers did'nt seem to mind, several said a dry
track or a tacky track we're here to race, and that's what they did.
YOU HAD TO BE THERE!!!!
The Battle for The Dash For Cash continues between Garland&Gross(7 features wins for Garland
And 6 feature wins for Gross.)

In the Latemodel Class Craig Jacobs has been around Freeports Track many many times but this week it was a good one for him ,he finished First being his first win of this season holding off a very hard charge from Darren Miller for several laps.
In the Modified class it was a very familiar name finishing in the first spot this season being Mike Garland,holding off a very late charge by Ken Konstabader.
In the Sportsman class it was Jamie Pfieffer taking the win,not a newcomer for finishing first.
Another familiar name in the winners circle is Tim Gross winning the Hobbystock Feature.
There seems to be a Battle Between Gross and Garland for The Dash For Cash both Having 5 Featue wins so far this season.
A new winner in the Open 4cyl was steve Raymond.
Overall it was another action packed Saturday Night of exciting DirtTrack Racing on the Big Half Mile.

It was another action packed Saturday at Freeport Raceway Park.Jeff Larson of Freeport had a Hot Streak going for him as he lead the Latemodel Feature for 18 laps and Lyle Zanker found his way around Larson on lap 19 and holding on for the  the checkered Flag.In the Modified class the same Jeff Larson took the lead early lead and was challenged lap 11 by Mike Garland,With some hard driving and ladyluck on his side  Larson won with Garland breaking his motor.The top three in the points running in the Mod class had Mechanical problems an didnt finish the race.Joe Foshee won his fist feature of the year in the Sportsman class over Jamie Pfeiffer.The Hobbystock Feature had a Four time feature winner this season take the checkers first being Tim Gross.The Open 4cyl class was won by Dan Niesman.No B or A-main results for the 4 cyl class submitted.

The weather was cool but the action was Hot at Freeport Raceway Park this Saturday as 115 Racecars entered the pit area.The fans didnt seem to mind the weather as they anticipated an exciting night of dirt track racing.
In the Latemodel division Mark Curwen driving car 54 started in front and finished in the number 1 spot, after holding off several hard charges from his compitition.
Mike Garland had his way in the modified class taking the lead on lap 13 from a 11th position starting spot.
The Sportsman class was won by Toby Kunzelman.
A familiar face in the winners circle in the Hobbystock class was Tim Gross.
Eric Glendenning took the checkers first in the Open Class 4 cyl.
Becky Roth took the win in the 4cyl Amain

Fans and drivers alike awaited the return for another Saturday,as mother nature took it away last week after only a tease. The pit area was full as it had been the previous weeks,a total of 122 racecars.The grandstands had all the returns from the rainout last week plus additional fans anticipating a exiciting night of Dirt Racing!!
The Racetrack surface seemed to be ideal but after Hotlaps the track was not so forgiving,all the wet weather had taken its toll.Several of the drivers stated "the staff did what they could do,and did a decent job for us to get the races in,we have raced on much worse racetracks were here to race and thats what were gonna do,a few ruts are not going to stop us!!!

In the Latemodels Mike Miller started front row and finished the same with a hard charging Dave Engelkins and Terry Huizel following.
In the modified class Mike Garland took the checkers first making him 3 for 3 with Ben Hamberg and Josh Vinnedge finishing second and third.
Mark Verbeck won the B-main advancing to the A-main
The Sportsman class had Jamie Pfeiffer winning by a pretty good margin followed by Dave Mile,Mike Kline
The Hobbystock feature saw Chuck Griffin winning,Tim Gross second,Jay Laue third
Jason Lamm won the 4cyl B-main
Jason Roth took the 4cyl A-main
