Brad Neat, Benji
Lee, and Jeff Johnson Fan Appreciation Night Winners at Ponderosa
Junction City, KY-October 13, 2007-Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY followed up his
Fall Classic win last week with a $3,000 payday on a turn four, last lap pass to
win the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model feature event on Saturday night
at Ponderosa Speedway. Other feature winners were Benji Lee of St. Joe, KY in
Hardee's Modifieds and Jeff Johnson of Junction City, KY in SkyTower Power Race
Engines Sportsman. It was also the second straight wins for Lee and Johnson.
This event also marked the final night of racing at "Kentucky's Baddest
Bullring" for the 2007 race season.
The 40 lap, $3,000 to win Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model feature would
see polesitter Aaron Hatton take the lead, followed by Michael Chilton, Jason
Keltner, Brad Neat, and Jeff Watson. But the caution would quickly fly on lap 2
when Watson spun his mount into the infield with mechanical issues and would be
done for the evening. The restart would see Neat go from fourth to second off
of turn two, with Keltner third, Chilton fourth, and Eric Wells fifth. Only one
more lap would be turned until the caution flew again on lap 3 as Chris Combs
rolled his machine to a stop in turn two. The restart would see Hatton stay in
the lead, while Neat and Keltner would start to battle for second, while Joey
Daniel would take fourth past Chilton and Wells. Dustin Neat would make his way
into the top five one trip later, as Hatton scooted away from the field. As
race leader Hatton entered traffic on lap 10, Brad Neat and Keltner were
slugging it out for second, while Dustin Neat and Joey Daniel went at it door to
door for the four spot. Brad Neat would keep Keltner at bay, while Dustin Neat
would claim fourth from Daniel on lap 11. As Hatton worked slower traffic, Brad
Neat and Keltner would race their way closer to Hatton on lap 15, with Keltner
finally able to motor past Neat for second on lap 15.
As the field saw the halfway signal, Hatton, Keltner, and Brad Neat were in
clear track and had pulled away from Neat and Daniel, who was beginning to get
some heat from Mike Jewell for fifth. Hatton was setting a torrid pace up
front, having lapped up to the 11th place machine by lap 25. Keltner would
slowly reel in Hatton by lap 28, with Brad Neat nipping at the heels of Keltner
for second, while Daniel and Jewell mixed it up again for fifth. While the
battle for second intensified even further between Keltner and Brad Neat, just a
couple car lengths off of Hatton's rear bumper, Dustin Neat held fourth, while
Jewell would turn the wick up in the battle with Daniel for fifth. Lap 33 would
see Jewell finally win the war for fifth, while Brad Neat and Keltner went at it
side by side for the runner-up again. Brad Neat would finally work back around
Keltner on 37 as the front three worked heavy traffic. The finally caution
waved on lap 38 as Hatton and the slower car of Dwight Embree made contact
exiting turn two, with Embree spinning around and drawing the caution. The
restart would see Brad Neat drive high and attempt to drive around Hatton and
the pair would eventually race back to the white flag in a dead heat for the
lead. Brad Neat would make a power move to the top shelf in turn three and take
the lead exiting turn four and beat Hatton to line a half-car length for the win
in his NWN Distributing/Neat's Service Center/Tarter Gate/Tarter-Roberts
Insurance/Tri-County Wood Products sponsored #41 MasterSbilt Race Cars, Cornett
Race Engines powered machine. Hatton and Keltner would claim second and third,
while Jewell would drive by Dustin Neat on the final lap for fourth. The
remainder of the top ten would be Chilton, Daniel, Wells, Steve Barnett, and
Chris Combs. Twenty-seven entries saw Hatton as top qualifier, with Hatton,
Chilton, and Brad Neat winning the heats, while Brandon Fouts won the B-main.
In Hardee's Modified, Benji Lee would go the point at the start, while Josh
Lucas and Miguel Coffey raced tirelessly for the second spot, with Coffey
eventually winning the battle for the runner-up position on lap 15 of the 25
lap, $1,000 to win main event for the open-wheel division. But this particular
evening would belong to second generation racer Lee and he followed up his
victory in the Modified portion of the Fall Classic with another $1,000 payday
on this evening behind the wheel of the Thompson Heat and Air/Smart
Shoppers/Springfield Auto and Farm/St. Joe Garage/Kirker Automotive Finishes/
All Star Performance/B and B Motorsports/Wilwood sponsored #03 Bandit Race Cars,
Dale Meers Performance Race Engines powered mount. Coffey would hold for
second, while Lucas would hold off Jay Mobley for capture the third position,
with J.T. Ayers completing the top five. Rounding out the top ten were Bobby
Neal, Elliott Despain, Clarence Belcher, Kevin Nesselhauf, and Scott Anderson.
Thirteen entries saw Lee as top qualifier and also a heat winner, while Lucas
scored the other heat race checkered flag.
The 20 lap, $500 to win SkyTower Power Race Engines Sportsman feature event
would be the "Double J" show as Jeff Johnson survived several caution flags to
put the Gaddis Welding/The Muffler Shop/B and E Builders/Hurst Racing sponsored
#114 Chevy Monte Carlo in victory lane for the second straight Saturday
evening. Avral Thompson would win an entertaining battle with Troy Scott to
claim runner-up honors, with the top five concluded by Paul Lewis, Jr. and Billy
Rigdon. Completing the top ten were Don Risnor, Martin Stacey, Robbie Long,
Edwin Bentley, and Brian Elder. Fifteen entries saw Johnson as fast qualifier
and also win a heat, while Thompson won the second heat.

Brad Neat is 17th Annual
Clayton Homes Fall Classic Champion at Ponderosa Speedway
Junction City, KY-October 6, 2007- Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY would etch his
name in the record books at Ponderosa Speedway on Saturday evening as he would
claim his first-ever win in the 17th Annual Clayton Homes Fall Classic presented
by Mortgage Suppliers for the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models. Other
feature winners for the evening included Benji Lee of St. Joe, KY in Hardee's
Modifieds, Jeff Johnson of Junction City, KY in SkyTower Power Race Engines
Sportsman, and P.J. Feistritzer of Danville, KY in the Kentucky National Guard
Crate Late Models.
The Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model 17th Annual Clayton Homes Fall
Classic would see outside polesitter Bobby Wolter, Jr. take the lead at the drop
of the green flag, with Whitney McQueary, Brad Neat, Jason Keltner, and
first-time visitor Brian Shirley in pursuit. McQueary and Neat would
immediately begin a battle for second, while Mike Jewell and Victor Lee
pressured Shirley for fifth. Wolter, Jr. would open a bit of lead, as Neat and
McQueary raced door-to-door for the runner-up slot, with Neat finally taking
second on lap 8. Keltner had closed in on this battle and would motor by
McQueary for third on lap 10. Neat would close in on race leader Wolter, Jr.
and would outgun Wolter, Jr. off of turn two on lap 12 to claim the point
position. Keltner would move into the number two position by passing Wolter,
Jr. in similar fashion on one round later in turn two. Shirley would begin to
flex his muscles and would take fourth from McQueary on lap 15, while Don O'Neal
began to move as well as he and Jewell raced for sixth, while pressuring
McQueary for sixth. Victor Lee would join the top five as well and challenged
Wolter, Jr. for fourth on lap 17, but the action would slow for the only caution
of the race when O'Neal rolled to a stop in turn four with a flat left rear
tire. The restart would see the first four remain unchanged, but McQueary would
drive back into the top five past Wolter, Jr., while Shirley pressured Keltner
on the top side for second and took the spot on lap 20. While Neat was
beginning to pull away a bit from the field, the duo of Shirley and Keltner
would engage in an extremely entertaining battle for the second position, with
Keltner resuming fifth on lap 25, only to have Shirley retake it one circuit
later on lap 26.
Race leader Neat would begin to start to work slower traffic on lap 27, while
Shirley and Keltner waged that torrid battle for second still, while McQueary
had his hands full trying to stave off Mike Jewell and Eddie Carrier, Jr. to
remain in the top five. With Neat continuing to pull away ever so slightly from
the field, Shirley and Keltner continued to draw attention, while Jewell would
squeeze by McQueary for the fifth position on lap 33. By lap 40, Neat would
hold almost a full straightaway lead over the battle for second, while Jewell
would close up on Lee, who ran fourth. As the leaders raced in heavy traffic,
Keltner would retake the second position and attempt to begin the reeling in
process of Neat. But it would be to no avail as Neat would romp to the finish
line first in his NWN Distributing/Neat's Service Center/Tarter
Gate/Tarter-Roberts Insurance/Tri-County Wood Products/Hoosier Tire/Sunoco Race
Fuels sponsored #41 C.J. Rayburn Race Cars, Cornett Race Engines powered
machine. Keltner, Shirley, and Lee would claim second through fourth, while
18th starting Chris Combs would nip Jewell at the finish for fifth. Behind
Jewell, the remainder of the top ten were Michael Chilton, McQueary, Tyrel Todd,
and Josh McGuire. Thirty-seven entries saw Eddie Carrier, Jr. as top qualifier
13.569 seconds, while heat wins went to McQueary, Wolter, Jr., Keltner, and Brad
Neat, with Bryan Barber and Combs winning the B-Mains.
The 25 lap, $1,000 to win Hardee's Modified main event would see Joey Kramer and
Benji Lee battle for the lead between early caution flag periods, before Kramer
would secure himself in the spot as a caution waved again on lap 13. It was
during this caution period that Kramer would start to have a deflating right
rear tire and try to restart, only to pull up slow to cause a caution, then
ducking to the infield for fresh rubber. The restart would see Lee handle one
more late caution and be the Modified feature event winner for the evening in
his Thompson Heat and Air/Smart Shoppers/Springfield Auto and Farm/Kirker
Automotive Finishes/B and B Motorsports/St. Joe Garage sponsored #03 Bandit Race
Car, Dale Meers Performance Engines powered mount. Shon Flanery would take
second, with Miguel Coffey third, while Josh Lucas would outduel Jason Wheatley
for fourth. The conclusion of the top ten would see Dion Benningfield, Jay
Mobley, Ryan Cary, Kramer, and Bill Arnold in those positions. Kramer was top
qualifier among 26 mounts, while also claiming his heat event win, along with
other heat race winners in Lee and Flanery.
The 20 lap SkyTower Power Race Engines Sportsman main event would see Jeff
Johnson, Logan Preston, and Bartley Grant battle two and even three wide at
certain points, but it would be Johnson claiming a $500 payday aboard the Gaddis
Welding/The Muffler Shop/ B and E Builders/Hurst Racing sponsored #114 Chevy
Monte Carlo. Preston and Grant would finish second and third, while Eulus Combs
recovered from an early race spin to finish fourth, with Robbie Settles taking
fifth. Heading the second group of five would be Joe Walker, with Brian Cox,
Robbie Long, Paul Lewis, Jr., and John Mandigo giving chase. Sixteen entries
saw fast time go to Johnson, who also won his heat event, along with the other
heat scored by Settles.
There would be six entries in the Kentucky National Guard Crate Late Model
division and P.J. Feistritzer would fly to another feature win after passing
Todd Coffman at the midpoint of the event and drive on to victory in the
Self-Service Storage/Big Daddy's Auto Sales sponsored #88 C.J. Rayburn Race Car
mount. The remainder of the finishing order would be Coffman, Jason Barrett,
Anthony Reams, Gary Thompson, and Chris Perry.

Maybrier "Friday Night Rumble" Winners at Ponderosa
Junction City, KY-October 5, 2007-Jason Keltner of Campbellsville, KY would make
a late race move to claim the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model win in the
Friday Night Rumble at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday evening. Other feature
event winners were Dustin Linville of Lancaster, KY in Hardee's Modifieds,
Gerald Haynes, Jr. of Somerset, KY in SkyTower Power Race Engines Sportsman, and
Randy Maybrier of Waynesburg, KY in Clayton Homes Chevettes.
The 30 lap, $2,000 to win Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model main event
would take the green flag and Eddie Carrier, Jr. would take the initial lead,
with Whitney McQueary, Aaron Hatton, Victor Lee, and Jason Keltner in pursuit.
The front five would stay the same as the first caution waved on lap 3 for spin
in turn three by Rohn Moon, that also collected Jordan Bland and Bobby Carrier,
Jr. The restart would produce a pass by Hatton on McQueary for second, while
Keltner and Brad Neat would be fourth and fifth, as Lee retired under the
caution period. Hatton would pressure Carrier, Jr. for the lead and would take
it on lap 5, while Rattliff worked past Neat for fifth, only to lose the spot
back to Neat one trip later. Lap 7 would see Carrier, Jr. work back around
Hatton for the lead, with the pair side by side on lap 8, with Hatton retaking
the top spot on lap 9. The leaders would start working slower traffic on lap
11, with Keltner starting to pressure McQueary for the three slot on lap 13.
The next caution would fly on lap 16 as Justin Rattliff would sit stopped in
turn two.
The lap 16 restart would be voided when Mike Marlar made contact with the
outside wall in turn one, ending his night early. Back under green, Keltner
would work past McQueary for third, while Don O'Neal would also pass McQueary
and take fourth. Carrier, Jr. would mount a charge on the high side and reclaim
the lead from Hatton on lap 18. Carrier, Jr. and Hatton would battle for the
top spot, while Keltner raced third, O'Neal fourth, and McQueary and Brad Neat
got after it for fifth. The caution would be displayed again on lap 25 when Tim
Tungate would slow on the backchute while running in the seventh spot. This
restart would see Keltner take second from Hatton and immediately pressure
Carrier, Jr. for the top spot. Keltner would work under Carrier, Jr. exiting
turn four on lap 27 and have the lead at the line, while O'Neal would pass
Hatton for third. Caution would fly on the next circuit when Larry Gray, Jr.
slowed in turn two. The restart would see Eric Wells make heavy contact with
the outside retaining wall in turn one, to draw the final caution of the race.
The restart would see Keltner hold the lead and drive the Terry and Kathy
Keltner owned, Keltner Contracting/Rent Depot/ Huber Amusements/Arizona Sport
Shirts/Tim Horton's/BJC Janitorial/Calhoun Concrete/ Integra Shocks/Wayne Bowen
Racing Supply/American Racer Tires sponsored #0 C.J. Rayburn Race Cars, Draime
Race Engines entry to the victory. O'Neal, Carrier, Jr., Hatton, and Brad Neat
would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten were Dustin Neat,
McQueary, Chris Combs, Bobby Wolter, Jr., and Jordan Bland. Forty-eight entries
saw O'Neal as top qualifier, with heat race wins going to McQueary, Eddie
Carrier, Jr., Victor Lee, and Keltner. The B-Mains were scored by Tyrel Todd
and Bland.
The 30 lap, $1,500 to win Hardee's Modified main event would see Joey Kramer
take the lead and hold off Dustin Linville until lap 19, as Linville would grab
the lead away from Kramer in heavy traffic and then proceed to stave of the
challenges of Kramer in the late going of the race to claim the victory aboard
the Terry Linville owned, Linville's Finish Carpentry/Wholesale Hardwood
Interior/Lester Grider Trucking/G.D. Perkins Builders/Keith Denny Motors/Moberly
Floor Covering sponsored #D8 Bob Pierce Race Cars mount. Kramer would settle
for runner-up honors, while Kelly Warren would take third, with Miguel Coffey
and Benji Lee completing the top five. Timmy York would lead the second five at
the checkered flag, followed by Delane Browning, Shon Flanery, Jay Mobley, and
J.T. Ayers. Thirty-one entries saw Coffey as top qualifier, while heats fell to
David McWilliams, Kramer, and Lee, with Ayers claiming the B-Main victory.
The 20 lap, $500 to win SkyTower Power Race Engines Sportsman main event would
see Gerald Haynes, Jr. lead all 20 circuits en route to claiming the win and the
$200 bounty that had been posted on Rick King. Haynes, Jr. would drive the win
in his unsponsored #27 Chevelle entry, with Jeff Johnson scoring second, and
King claiming third. The rest of the top five would be Bartley Grant and Russ
Gabbert. Rounding out the top ten were Logan Preston, Glen Hounshell, Jr., Pat
Hagan, Brian Elder, and Brian Cox. Twenty-three entrants would see King be top
qualifier, with heat race victories scored by Logan Whitis and Haynes, Jr.
The Clayton Homes Chevette divison would run a 15 lap feature event and Randy
