JUSTIN FEGERS TO BE HONORED AS 2007 POLYDOME LATE MODEL SERIES
CHAMPION
John Kaanta to WDRL Rookie of the Year Award at Nov. 10 banquet
By Bucky Doren
WORLD Dirt Racing League
Osceola, Iowa (Oct. 31, 2007) -- Justin Fegers of Mound, Minn., will be
honored as the 2007 PolyDome Late Model Series Champion on Saturday, Nov.
10, at this year's WORLD Dirt Racing League champions' banquet, which takes
place here at Terrible's Hotel and Casino.
Racing fans were excited to see Fegers' no. F15 return to the tour in 2007,
and he didn't disappoint them. The 2005 WDRL PolyDome Late Model Series
Rookie of the Year the 2006 season off from traveling but returned this
season on a mission.
"That year, we were a top-five car each night we went to the track," Fegers
said of his 2005 rookie year. "We just had gremlins bother us that year. It
was also our first year racing with an open motor. We learned a lot about
the tracks that year.
"We thought we had a good chance to win the title (in 2007)," Fegers added.
"We just needed to run up to our potential."
Fegers and his crew did just that. By season's end, two wins, 11 top-five
finishes and 19 top-10 finishes were scored next to Fegers' name.
"The situation with Brian (Harris) changed things for us," Fegers commented.
Harris was leading the WDRL point standings when he was sidelined due to
injuries suffered while racing in an unsanctioned event late in the year.
"We were only making up a few points a night before that," said Fegers. "I
just wish we could have raced each other to settle this thing."
Fegers wrapped the championship on the final night of racing when the series
made a stop at Davenport (Iowa) Speedway. Eric Pember, Pittsville, Wis.,
still had a viable shot at the title, but he broke a driveshaft, giving him
a 19th-place finish in the final event's rundown and the championship to
Fegers.
"It is a great feeling to accomplish the goals you set for yourself," Fegers
said of winning this year's Polydome Late Model Series championship. "But it
hasn't really set in yet. I'm sure a big check and a big trophy will help."
Fegers will have almost $25,000 in cash and prizes awarded to him at the
banquet for his efforts.
"I am getting married the weekend after the banquet," Fegers smiled. "I just
hope I remember to bring the right speech on the 10th."
John Kaanta finished second in the final point standings and captured the
series' 2007 WDRL Rookie of the Year title. Kaanta, who has been scoring
wins on the dirt tracks in Wisconsin for some time, made his first year on
the series a good one.
"Our goal was to finish in the top five," remembers Kaanta. "We knew we had
to finish races. You don't do that, and you're not going to be in the top
five.
"We enjoyed this year," Kaanta added. "It was a lot of travel, but we really
liked the people we saw at the track each night.
"Grabbing our first win at Freeport was one of those nights that we had a
lot of fun," Kaanta said of his victory at Freeport (Ill.) Raceway Park.
Kaanta had to pass Jimmy Mars, his chassis builder, for the lead and the
win. "Nights like that and the rookie honors help give some attention to
what Jimmy does with his cars.
"We¹re really excited about November 10th," Kaanta concluded.
Others who will be honored at the WORLD Dirt Racing League champions'
banquet are Pember; Dave Eckrich, Oxford, Iowa; Chris Simpson, Marion, Iowa;
Denny Eckrich, Tiffin, Iowa; Brian Harris, Davenport, Iowa; Tim Isenberg,
Marshfield, Wis.; Rob Moss, Iowa City, Iowa; and Ace Ihm, Hazel Green, Wis.
A special thanks from WORLD Dirt Racing League goes out to PolyDome
Products, Hoosier Racing Tires, AMSOIL and Iowa-Illinois Tailor Insulation
for helping with this year's campaign.
Racing fans are welcome to attend the champions' banquet and can still
purchase their dinner tickets for the year-end celebration, but time is
running out. For more information, log onto WDRL's Web site:

DARREN MILLER WINS WDRL SEASON FINALE AT DAVENPORT (IOWA)
SPEEDWAY
Justin Fegers wins 2007 PolyDome Late Model Series championship
By Bucky Doren
WORLD Dirt Racing League
Davenport, Iowa (Oct. 7, 2007) -- Darren "The Thriller" Miller made it two
for two in the WORLD Dirt Racing League Polydome Late Model Series by
grabbing his second win in as many nights Saturday here at Davenport
Speedway.
But Justin Fegers of Mound, Minn., officially became the 2007 WDRL PolyDome
Late Model Series champion when he took the green for the 50-lap feature,
the series' season finale.
Miller held off 2007 WDRL Rookie of the Year John Kaanta for the race win,
coming to the green flag in the sixth starting position.
By lap four, Miller had taken the lead, and he was able to work through
lapped traffic while holding Kaanta and early race favorite Fegers at bay.
As lapped traffic became thicker, Kaanta was able to close in on Miller. But
a yellow flag would fly again, giving Miller a clean race track to work with
on the restart.
"That late yellow (flag) helped us out a lot," Miller told the fans from
AMSOIL Victory Lane. "After the dash, I had my guys change just about
everything, and they thought I was crazy."
Kaanta chased Miller hard in the closing stages of the race on the historic
Davenport half-mile. Kaanta was looking to move up a position in the final
WDRL PolyDome Late Model Series point standings, and it was obvious he was
on a mission.
Kaanta, who had set fast time and started fifth in the 50-lapper, worked
hard to cut his way up to second, but he could not overtake Miller for the
win. In addition to winning the WDRL Rookie of the Year honors, Kaanta moved
into second place in the final points rundown.
Ray Guss Jr., substituting again for the injured Brian Harris in car Harris'
21H, finished third in the main event despite tangling with another car in
the race, causing some damage.
"I got into someone, and it messed something up with the right front," Guss
told the crowd after the checkers had flown. "I didn't see a car down low,
and when I tried to get out of the way, I ended up making contract with
another car."
Brian Birkhofer had a flat tire early in the race but marched his way back
to the front for a fourth-place finish. Jimmy Mars rounded out the top five.
Champion Justin Fegers and the rest of the top 10 in the WDRL PolyDome Late
Model Series point standings will be honored this coming Nov. 10 at the
WORLD Dirt Racing League¹s annual awards banquet. Details will be coming
soon to the WDRL Web site, www.worldraceleague.com.

DARREN MILLER WINS NIGHT ONE OF THE WDRL SEASON FINALE AT
DAVENPORT (IOWA)
SPEEDWAY
Dave Eckrich escapes injury in wild turn two ride
By Bucky Doren
WORLD Dirt Racing League
Davenport, Iowa (Oct. 6, 2007) -- Darren Miller lived up to his nickname
'The Thriller' Friday night as he grabbed the WORLD Dirt Racing League
PolyDome Late Model Series victory here at Davenport Speedway. It was the
first of two nights of racing in the series' season finale at the half-mile
speed plant.
Miller had to fend off heavy pressure from Chris Simpson for the win, which
was marred by a spectacular crash.
As the green flag came out to start the 25-lap main event, Dave Eckrich
would take a wild ride in turn two. Eckrich's car ended up cart-wheeling,
and it came to rest on top of the turn two wall. Eckrich was able to walk
away, but he was taken to a Davenport hospital for an examination. But
Eckrich returned to the speedway by the end of the night after getting the
thumbs-up from doctors.
When racing resumed, Eric Pember hustled his car to the point with Chris
Simpson in tow. Pember was on a mission to grab some much-needed WDRL points
and close in on series point leader Justin Fegers, who started 18th.
As the lead duo battled in to turn three, Miller moved to the high side and
passed both of them to assume the lead. That left Pember and Simpson to
fight it out for second.
Simpson would eventually clear Pember, then he began to chip away at the
lead that Miller had opened up. Simpson narrowed the gap in the closing
stages of the race and was making a move on the final lap when his car lost
power and came to a stop in turn four as the checkered flag came out.
"If we win this thing tonight, we'll be lucky," Miller had told fans when he
was interviewed during a break in the action to clean up after Dave
Eckrich's crash.
"I guess we were lucky tonight," Miller later said with a smile from AMSOIL
Victory Lane. "We were able to pull away as Pember and Simpson battled for
second. I didn't hear Simpson closing in on me. I had my hands full because
I lost my power steering at the beginning of the race. If this had been any
longer than 25 laps, I don't think we would have won tonight."
Brian Birkhofer was in the top five all night, and he was able to work
around Pember in the closing laps to finish second. Pember was third.
Ray Guss Jr. drove Brian Harris' car to a fourth-place finish. Denny Eckrich
rounded out the top five. WDRL points leader Justin Fegers finished 10th.
Harris, who was recently released from the hospital, attended the races and
he was greeted by a lot of well-wishers who were glad to see him up and
around after his horrific crash a few weeks ago at West Liberty (Iowa)
Raceway.
The season finale night for the 2007 WORLD Dirt Racing League PolyDome Late
Model Series is tonight, Saturday, at Davenport Speedway. Hot laps are set
for 5:30.

WORLD DIRT RACING LEAGUE WRAPS UP 2007 THIS WEEKEND
PolyDome Late Model Series stars and cars to compete Friday and Saturday at
Davenport (Iowa) Speedway
By Bucky Doren
WORLD Dirt Racing League
Davenport, Iowa (Oct. 4, 2007) -- The WORLD Dirt Racing League brings the
PolyDome Late Model Series here to the Davenport Speedway this Friday and
Saturday (Oct. 5 and 6) for a double-header season finale.
Five drivers are still in the hunt for the 2007 WDRL title. Justin Fegers of
Mound, Minn., has earned 3,245 points so far this year and enters this
weekend's action with the points lead. Fegers has ripped off six straight
top-10 WDRL finishes to push him into the top spot.
John Kaanta of Elk Mound, Wis., is second with 3,171 points -- just 74
points behind Fegers -- putting Kaanta in the hunt for the PolyDome Late
Model Series points championship. Kaanta is leading the WORLD Dirt Racing
League Rookie of the Year competition.
Eric Pember of Pittsville, Minn., sits in third place with 3,166 points.
Pember, who is coming off a solid third-place finish this past weekend at
Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kans., has a mathematical chance for the
title.
Dave Eckrich of Cosgrove, Iowa, is fourth in the standings with 3,153
points. Eckrich is still mathematically in the hunt for the PolyDome Late
Model Series points title. Sitting only 13 points behind Pember, Eckrich
could very easily climb a few more spots in the final rundown.
Brian Harris of Davenport, Iowa, who has led the WDRL point standings most
of the season, currently sits fifth with 3,075 points. Harris, who was
injured in an accident at West Liberty (Iowa) Raceway on Sept. 22 and is
recovering, is not expected to race this weekend.
The hearts of WORLD Dirt Racing League's officials and all its racing teams
go out to Brian Harris and his crew and family. We are very thankful that it
looks like he is going to make a full recovery.
Pit gates open at 2 p.m. Friday at Davenport Speedway. Front gates open at 5
with hot laps set for 6. On Saturday the pit gates open at 2 p.m. with front
gates open at 4 and hot laps slated for 5:30 p.m. The track is located at
the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, 2815 W. Locust St.

ANDERSON SCORES LATE MODEL SHOWDOWN WIN AT LAKESIDE
Holds off field for WDRL win despite yellow flags late in the race
By Bucky Doren
WORLD Dirt Racing League
Kansas City, Kans. (Sept. 30, 2007) -- After scoring the runner-up spot the
night before, John Anderson nabbed the WORLD Dirt Racing League PolyDome
Late Model Series win in the Late Model Showdown here Saturday night at
Lakeside Speedway. The race was co-sanctioned by MLRA.
Kyle Berck took the lead at the drop of the green flag with Anderson
following in Berck's tire tracks. On lap nine, Anderson was able to slip
underneath Berck off of turn two for the lead. The two went side by side
into turn three, and it was Anderson who came off of turn four with the
lead.
Anderson started working lapped traffic, and that allowed Berck to close
back up on Anderson's bumper. Jeremy Payne began catching up with the front
two at the same time. A yellow on lap 25 gave Anderson a clean track, and he
controlled the field for the win.
Berck ran second, trying to hold off Payne for several laps. Payne worked
his no. 74 to the high side and took over the second spot. Berck suffered
mechanical problems and was forced pit side before the race was over.
Payne finished second to Anderson. Eric Pember ran a solid top-five all
night, securing a third-place finish. PolyDome Late Model Series
Rookie-of-the-Year competition points leader John Kaanta finished fourth,
followed by Kelly Boen.
"I would have loved to race against Terry (Phillips), but we'll take the
win," Anderson admitted from the AMSOIL Victory Lane. Phillips, who Anderson
finished second to the night before at Lakeside, was scheduled to start on
the outside front row with Anderson. But mechanical problems with the drive
train forced Phillips to the infield just before the green flag was waved to
start the 50-lap affair.
"I'm so happy to grab a WDRL win," Anderson said with a smile. "It's been a
while. In the dash, we figured the track would be about the same, so we made
a few adjustments (on the car). The Shop Quickie Convenience Stores
MasterSbilt no. 2 was fast.
"During the feature, I just tried to save tires," remembered Anderson. "I
was a little worried about all the yellow flags at the end, but the tires
stayed with me each time we restarted.
"We ripped off five second-place finishes in a row, including last night,"
Anderson said. "But this win will help everyone keep digging."
Next up for the WORLD Dirt Racing League PolyDome Late Model Series will be
the season finale at the Davenport (Iowa) Speedway on Friday and Saturday,
Oct. 5 and 6.

TERRY PHILLIPS WINS WDRL LAKESIDE EVENT WITH LATE-RACE PASS
His victory in night one of Late Model Showdown caps side-by-side battle
with Anderson
By Bucky Doren
WORLD Dirt Racing League
Kansas City, Kans. (Sept. 29, 2007) -- Terry Phillips passed John Anderson
late in the 30-lap WORLD Dirt Racing League Polydome Late Model event Friday
night here at Lakeside Speedway. Phillips earned the win in night one of the
Late Model Showdown. Night two of the event, co-sanctioned by MLRA, is set
for tonight, Saturday, at Lakeside.
Phillips started fourth in the 26-car field, but wasted no time in charging
to the front. He would open up a commanding lead, but John Anderson worked
his way toward Phillips by mid-race.
Anderson battled Phillips side by side before Anderson would move into the
lead, and he opened up a six-car-length spread. But Phillips never gave up.
"My car was getting tight," Phillips said after the race in AMSOIL Victory
Lane. "I had to find a different line. John (Anderson) was running right on
the bottom, so I moved to the high-side, and he started coming back to me."
On lap 20, Phillips pulled even with Anderson, and the two ran door to door
for several laps. Phillips moved his no. 75 car to the point for good on lap
26. Anderson would hold on for second.
"These guys standing behind me are the reason we are in Victory Lane,"
Phillips said, crediting his crew. "They¹ve worked all season long, and
things are really clicking right now. This gives us some great momentum for
tomorrow night."
Kyle Berck started sixth and raced in the top five all night before coming
home third. Jeremy Payne put on a great show for the fans, starting 23rd and
racing to a fourth-place finish. Chris Simpson rounded out the top-five.
NASCAR Nextel Cup star Clint Boyer started seventh in the feature. Early in
the race, Boyer suffered a flat right rear tire and was forced to restart at
the back of the field after replacing that tire. Boyer had charged up to
seventh place when his car was collected in a multi-car crash midway through
the main event. That ended his bid for the win.
The WDRL Polydome Late Model Series will wrap-up the 2007 season Oct. 5 and
6 at the Davenport Speedway.

(Gilman City, MO) Short Track World, LLC prepares to broadcast
its first, live dirt track race from Echo Valley Speedway in West Union, IA on
May 26 and then from Dubuque on May, 28. PolyDome, of Litchfield, MN, the
premier supplier of equipment for farms, ranches and homes is the primary
sponsor of Short Track World and a major supporter of dirt track racing.
For the first time, viewers can watch dirt track racing live either on their
computers or on their internet-enabled televisions. The entire feature of the
World Dirt Racing League will be broadcast for viewers to watch from the green
flag to the checkered. Also, featured clips of the heat races and the
Iowa-Illinois Taylor Insulation Pole Dash will be shown. The Short Track World,
(STW) web page will also have an interactive screen allowing viewers to discuss
the race while in progress. Racing programs will remain available on the
website for viewing for months after the original broadcast.
STW is co-owned by Joe and Stacy Pate of Short Track Network and Jim and Nancy
Wilson of the WDRL. Joe Pate states, “We have the best technology
available today to provide our viewers with the clearest and best program
possible”. “We have a mobile studio with a full bank of monitors,
state-of-the-art satellite streaming and broadcast capabilities”.
Jim Wilson adds, “In this day of high gas prices, many fans cannot travel
to see the races they most want to see”. “This technology will allow
the entire family to watch a race, live, from their own living room for one, low
price”.
Races will be blacked out in areas near the race track and promoters will also
be paid for each household viewing the program. Says Wilson, “Our goal is
to maintain the large fan base for dirt track racing even in these times of high
fuel costs and to help promoters, race teams and their sponsors by making it
possible for more people to actually watch a race live, as it is happening”.
A fantasy race league will also be available for viewers to choose teams from
the roster at each venue, each race night. A $2,000 prize pool has been
established for this fantasy league. The winner will also be invited to the WDRL
Awards Banquet and will receive a trophy and their winner’s check at that
event.
Costs for viewing will vary. Three levels of viewer interest are available.
First, single, per race pay-per-view per household will be listed with the
schedule of broadcasts.
Secondly, viewers may choose a Pro Race Membership. With this level, members
will be given a $5 discount per household for each race viewed, free
participation in the Fantasy Race League and Pro-Race Members will be able to
view any race free 30 days after the original broadcast. The cost for Pro Race
membership is $75 per year or $7.95 per month.
Finally, Bench Race Members, or those who only want to watch a good race now and
then but want to participate in the Fantasy Race League can pay a $30 annual
membership. This will allow 24/7 access to the Fantasy Race League to check
stats and prepare picks for the next event. Their pay-per-view cost for each
racing program will be listed with the schedule.

racing bringing new technology to your computer and TV.

What is internet-enabled TV? There are TVs now on the market, that have the
ability to surf the net and play videos right on your TV. There are also boxes
on the market that you can hook to your computer and watch everything from your
computer through your TV. The boxes are not expensive, you can get one anywhere
from $10 to $100 or you can install a new card in your computer to do the same.
We will make these available on our website www.shorttrackworld.com
Why watch it on TV when it’s already on your computer? LOCATION, LOCATION,
LOCATION… Most home computers are tucked away in a corner or small office
somewhere. With this new technology you can sign in and transfer the video to
your TV and the party is on! That’s right! Not only you can YOU watch it
but your whole family and friends can join you, for one low price!!
Short Track World is not stopping there, we have a totally interactive website
where you can talk to anyone else on-line watching the same show thru instant
messaging and talk trash and brag about your favorite driver. We are also
implementing a control panel so you can even ask questions about your favorite
driver. That’s right! You ask the question and we’ll find out and
let you know right on-line!!!
While watching the PolyDome Late Model Series you will be able to see real time
updates on the web site
http://www.shorttrackworld.com/. from the AMB electronic scoring system by “Iowa
Illinois Taylor Insulation”. Always know who’s first, second…
last. Want to know who has the fastest lap time? Want to know how your driver
matches up to the other drivers? You will see it as fast as the official score
keepers are seeing it live on the website.
Become a member of Short Track World and participate in the Fantasy Racing
League for one low fee, featuring the WDRL drivers. You’ll be able to
start your own grassroots racing team. Make a team by choosing from a mix of
rookies, intermediate and professional drivers. Earn points and get real payouts
at the end of the season. You’ll be able to pick from a selection of
drivers for every race we broadcast, then watch real time as your team puts you
in the winner’s circle. Short Track World Fantasy League will have a
minimum of a $2,000.00 point fund in 2007. This will be paid to the top 10 in
final points standings of the Fantasy League.
The money from every ticket sold will be divided up. You the viewers will help
keep this sport alive as gas prices continue to skyrocket, and fewer and fewer
fans can afford to travel great distances to watch their favorite driver. We are
allotting percentages that will get paid out to the Tracks/Promoters, Point
Funds and nightly payouts. This is just a start to revitalize the racing world
and to keep it going strong! With your participation we can bring many new fans
into the sport, help the drivers and race teams of the sport, and help their
sponsors get more recognition while helping track owners/promoters already
dedicated to the sport.
The Short Track World LLC shows will start at Echo Valley Speedway on Saturday
May 26, the 100 lap “Rumble on the River” at Dubuque County Speedway
on Monday may 28, and will continue throughout the season with the WORLD Dirt
Racing League being the main focus of the programs, as well as other big racing
programs in the country. Go to www.shorttrackworld.com for a complete listing of

Taylor Insulation Pole Dash and will show clips of these races along with
pre-taped interviews. This will start around 9 pm during each race show. The
WORLD Dirt Racing League will try to start the A-Feature around 9:30 or 9:45 pm
and Short Track World LLC will show the PolyDome A-Feature live, in it’s

Opening weekend events moved back a week due to wet conditions

WORLD Dirt Racing League
04-03-07
(Gilman City, MO) This weekend's season-opening WORLD Dirt Racing
League PolyDome Late Model Series events, scheduled for Davenport Speedway and
West Liberty Raceway, have been postponed.
According to series founder and President Jim Wilson, the
combination of precipitation and cool temperatures have made it impossible for
track officials to prepare the grounds and racing surfaces for this weekend's
events.
"With the amount of rain in the area, we obviously needed warm
temperatures and plenty of sun to get things dried out," noted Wilson. "With the
forecast calling for continued cool temperatures throughout the rest of the
week, getting things dried and prepared for racing is absolutely impossible."
According to Wilson, Friday's scheduled season-opener at Davenport
Speedway has been moved to Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa and will be held a
week from this Friday, April 13. Saturday's scheduled event at West Liberty
Raceway will be held on the Muscatine County Fairgrounds half-mile the following
night, April 14.
Qualifying both nights will get underway at 6:30 p.m., with racing
action set to start at 7:00.
